ARCAP was originally founded in 2009 with the same goal it pursues nowadays: To boost the Private Equity industry in Argentina. However, shortly thereafter, and although its members continued to be industry leaders in Latin America, a period during which it was inactive started. The association was relaunched at the end of 2016 and resumed operations in early 2017. During its previous stage, it had two Boards of Directors.
First ARCAP Board of Directors
The first Board of Directors was chaired by Federico Weil representing CAP Venture Capital, with Carlos García as Vice President of Private Equity representing Victoria Capital Partners; Sebastián Bagó as Vice President of Venture Capital representing FEG, Fundación Empresa Global de Investigación y Capacitación en Competitividad (Global Enterprise Foundation for Research and Training in Competitiveness) and Capital para Pymes S.A; and Tobías Schmukler as Vice President of Seed Capital representing Innova Tekné.
Second ARCAP Board of Directors
The second Board of Directors was chaired by Patricio Gómez Sabaini, representing Sur Capital, with Carlos García as Vice President of Private Equity representing Victoria Capital Partners, Federico Weil as Vice President of Venture Capital representing Cap Ventures and Tobías Schmukler as Vice-President of Seed Capital representing Innova Tekné.
